Territory Sales Manager - Contractor
COMPANY OVERVIVEW:
Pavement Maintenance Group (PMG) is the largest franchisee of the SealMaster/Gemseal Brand. PMG is an industry leader in the production and distribution of pavement preservation and maintenance products. JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company products and offerings and provide information to support others within the organization and customers.
· Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of markets, competition, key buying influences, and partners.
· Facilitate sales, expand market reach and drive revenue growth.
· Manage quotations, sales reports, expense accounts, and any other sales data.
· Manage all leads in the territory and communicate appropriate information to viable contractors/clients.
· Oversee local and territory sales, promotions, and campaigns.
· Visit retail stores and coordinate monthly territory sales meetings with store management.
· Open and close retail stores as needed and cover for store managers during their time off.
· Use ERP(NetSuite) system to process sales orders.
· Handle credit card transactions and cash payments accurately.
· Direct and coordinate all sales activities in the territory.
· Set sales quotas and goals.
· Visit client sites, building relationships for long term success.
· Share details with customers on additional offerings to provide value added service.
· Operate gas motors; demonstrate seal coating, line striping machines, crack sealing machines and other equipment. Must be comfortable with hands-on work and not be afraid to get hands dirty.
· Pull, assemble, stage, and load orders efficiently to meet customer requirements.
· Provide support to customers through hands-on training and troubleshooting guidance of materials and equipment.
· Diagnose and resolve minor equipment issues and perform mobile repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
· Deliver customer-requested materials and equipment promptly to meet their needs.
· Set up and assist with trade shows to showcase products and engage with potential clients.
· Handle tough business situations, including anticipating obstacles, competitive threats and modifying or adjusting solutions to create win-win situations.
· Preferred knowledge of DOT, ASTM, AASHTO specifications to better serve the customer’s needs.
· Negotiating experience, a plus.
· Able to push, pull lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
· Travel extensively within territory, including Raleigh, Greensboro, Madison & Roanoke(VA); Occasional overnight travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Represent the company with the highest principles and positive attitude.
· Minimum 3-5 years of progressive sales experience.
· Paving/Maintenance experience preferred, but not necessary.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record; must be comfortable driving to customer sites and capable of trailering equipment.
· Committed to working safely and following all policies and procedures.
· Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and explain material and equipment designs, specifications, and performance characteristics.
· Excellent communication, organizational, time management, prioritization, problem solving and multitasking skills.
· Confident, positive, and trustworthy with the highest degree of integrity.
· Understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
· Able to work in an independent atmosphere while managing and growing client relationships.
· Provide sales assistance through physical tasks to meet customer needs effectively.
· Proficient use of computer applications and email communication, Microsoft office suite.
· Able reconcile and tie out all transactions at the end of each day to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Eagerness to learn, grow, and succeed.
· Team oriented; job may include more duties than what is listed.
EQUIPMENT:
The company will supply all necessary tools and equipment, including access to company vehicles, assigned company cell phone and computer.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. Must be able to sit for extended periods while maintaining control of a vehicle and sufficient hand-eye coordination to operate controls, navigate traffic, and maneuver vehicles. Capable of loading and unloading vehicles as required. Additionally, the employee must be able to work outdoors in high temperatures and perform physically demanding tasks.
