Plant Operations Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Plant Operations Supervisor has a key role in the region and will work closely with all teams to ensure an effective communication, plant safety, and positive outcomes for both internal and external customers. Our plant is not large in terms of personnel, so this is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role. If you are service-minded, have experience in operations, maintenance and personnel, enjoy taking ownership and responsibility for your work, working in an environment where you will be wearing many hats and juggling a busy workload, then you may be just the person we are looking for.
Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations. This is a hands on position working on the floor of the plant most of the time.
Oversee production schedules and the production control process to ensure timely delivery of customers’ products.
Enhance and maintain quality systems and controls to ensure customer satisfaction.
Monitors and enhance systems that ensure repair and preventive maintenance programs for equipment achieve maximum efficiency.
Create and maintain an environment in which the employees can efficiently utilize their skills, fulfill their responsibilities and maximize their potential.
Manage employees time and attendance, work with HR to coach "Team" and address issues timely and fairly.
Assist efforts to develop organizational capability via Human Capital processes including performance feedback, recruitment and selection, compensation management & performance recognition.
Direct the efforts of plant supervision to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and plant safety rules.
Monitor, train and communicate safety and quality programs and assure compliance with policies and government regulations.
Assist leadership with budgeting, production statistics, cost analysis, justification of capital expenditures and asset management, operate plant within budget requirements.
Work with sales & marketing in developing and improving best practices.
Key focus areas include safety, quality, delivery, new business development, cost improvement and organizational effectiveness.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years of related "manufacturing" work experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in managing teams and projects and have a proven track record of success.
Strong experience in providing guidance/training to staff building a culture of engagement and performance improvement.
Ability to be highly visible in the Operation and demonstrate strong inspirational leadership skills.
Track record of making decisions even when outside area of expertise.
Must have a high capacity to manage multiple priorities with a balance of emotional control.
Strong MS Office skills. Experience using ERP system (NetSuite a +).
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills able to work well with all levels within the organization.
Must be a self-starter and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with a proven ability to perform work that is complex and varied in nature.

The successful candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the work location.
