ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager role is to oversee the full scope of the plant’s operations, including production, maintenance, shipping/receiving, safety, quality, people & process management. Directly responsible for working closely with leadership and the plant operations team to continually improve existing processes and methods that ensure that current and future manufacturing capabilities meet the needs of our customers. Will proactively identify process deficiencies, generate proposals for process improvements, and drive the institution of continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.


· Manage, mentor, and coach team members: Conduct employee reviews, boost morale, follow progressive corrective action process, and provide training.

· Develop team members for career progression and learning. Train staff to ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures, ensuring policies are thoroughly communicated to all staff in a timely manner.

· Hands-on approach: Ensure complete understanding of all technical, design, and people issues through direct involvement.

· Approve payroll and expense reporting, through hands-on oversight.

· Review resumes and cover letters, conduct interviews to evaluate candidates' fit for the role and company culture.

· Assist with the developing and implementing structured training plans that include role-specific training, skill development, and ongoing mentorship to ensure new hires are well-prepared and integrated into the team.

· Plan and manage the team's use of time to optimize productivity and achieve goals.

· Lead and oversee production processes and systems: Ensure overall efficiencies of overhead and monitor expenses through active management.

· KPIs: Steer the development of KPIs and ensure goals are met or exceeded through direct involvement.

· Apply company policies: Actively, fairly, and timely apply company policies; lead safety initiatives for the location through hands-on leadership.

· Drive improvements in manufacturing productivity and safety: Analyze, plan, and streamline workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout through direct involvement.

· Oversee plant renovations and buildouts: Manage all aspects of plant renovations and buildouts through hands-on oversight.

· Maintenance management system: Collaborate in the development and launch an effective maintenance management system that aligns with the needs of operations through direct involvement.

· Communicate effectively with HR and other managers: Address issues in the facility or personnel matters through direct communication.

· Plan and schedule operations meetings: Organize operations meetings and all-hands plant meetings as necessary through hands-on coordination.

· Work besides the plant operations team: Model leadership behaviors; ensure the training and applicable coaching of the production team through direct involvement.

· Develop manufacturing processes, drive the development of SOPs and JSAs to support the development of technical expertise and talent through hands-on leadership.

· Optimize production processes and drive cost-effective solutions through direct collaboration.

· Attend regular meetings, present status updates on current and future projects and propose future opportunities for improvements through active participation.

· Stay current on industry trends and best practices, continuously update knowledge on industry trends and best practices through hands-on research.

· Work closely with the CEO, leadership and HR to strategize on best practices for the plant through direct involvement.

· Other duties and responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis through hands-on involvement.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in the coating, adhesive, liquid form industrial manufacturing industry preferred.

· Proven track record of developing and implementing processes, tools, and best practices through hands-on involvement.

· 3-5 years of experience of progressive manufacturing leadership preferred.

· Strong mechanical skills.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills, able to coach others and maintain a positive work environment.

· Strong experience in building a culture of engagement and performance improvement through hands-on leadership.

· Demonstrate an inspirational leadership approach to leading others through direct involvement.

· Track record of making decisions even when outside area of expertise.

· Must have high capacity to manage multiple priorities with a high balance of emotional control.

· Able to provide guidance/training to more junior staff, creating win-win situations through hands-on mentorship.

· Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and be highly visible in operations through direct involvement.

· Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion through hands-on management.

· Record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior management and peers through direct engagement.

· Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.

· Wear/Use appropriate assigned PPE as required, comply with all OSHA and SDS standard guidelines at all times.

· Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.

· Valid driver’s license, ability to travel up to 20%.

· Proficiency in ERP Systems: Able to proficiently use ERP systems to place orders through hands-on use.

· Proficient use of computer applications and email communication, Microsoft office suite.

· Eagerness to learn, grow, and succeed.

· Team oriented; job may include more duties than what is listed.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive for long periods of time, sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. Additionally, the employee must be able to work outdoors in high temperatures and perform physically demanding tasks.
