JOB SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital role in the plant and will work closely with the operations team to meet production goals and targets, provide industry-leading customer service, and maintain the plant equipment. This is a working supervisor who leads a small team of maintenance mechanics and supports the ongoing production operation of an asphalt manufacturing facility.

  • Assist in development, planning, and execution of all plant-related maintenance activities including Preventative, Predictive, and Demand maintenance work

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping

  • Understand machine set-up, machine runs, ensure machinery runs appropriately to meet the scheduling priorities

  • Provide training, guidance, and mentoring  to  ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively

  • Provide direction to employees regarding assigned tasks and performance expectations including job hazards and safe work practices

  • Work with the Operations to investigate, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions for equipment-related failures

  • Assist with the development of processes (as they relate to maintenance) with the objective of producing the best product in the most efficient way, and at the lowest cost, without compromising safety or quality

  • Trouble-shoot and resolve equipment-related issues that impact ongoing production

  • Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to commit to all employee safety, employee culture, and quality programs

  • Team oriented, job may include more duties than what is listed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Two years+ supervisory experience preferred

  • 3 yr of Maintenance experience, preferred

  • Committed to working safely and following all policies and procedures

  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety

  • Ability to distinguish normal/abnormal

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to work weekends and/or shift work with a strong work ethic and employment history

  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching

  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs

  • A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others

  • Proficient computer skills and in all Microsoft Office software

  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as required

  • Valid drivers license, comfortable driving within the region, travel up 25%

  • Ability to motivate people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals to meet goals of the production area
